Remote I/O
-
Description
System Description
The remote I/O is a system for connecting electrical signals from one location to the other without the need to install a bulky cable with separate wire for each signal.
The system uses a simple twisted pair cable to transfer a huge amount of different analog and digital signals. Optional the data maybe transferred via a fiber optic cable.
The basic remote I/O system consists of at least 2 modules. The signal connected to the inputs will be available on the outputs of the opposite module with the same module coding.
For more inputs/outputs the system may use up to 16 modules which significantly enhance the input/output capability.
All possible 16 modules share the same twisted pair cable.
The modules isolate and eliminate hazardous ground loops and induced voltages. The I/O solutions include, digital standard inputs, relay outputs, and analog signals.
The status of the data-bus interface is continuously monitored to achieve a very reliable system performance.

(1) The Propagation delay is the time between changing an input until changing the corresponding output. This time is the worst case. In general the system is much faster. (2)The watchdog supervisors the system and the signal. If any fault detected or the data signal is missing then the outputs will be set to Idle for safe operation. Optional features (on request)
- Any level of analog inputs and outputs 0-20mA / 4-20mA / 0-5V/0-10V
- Any level of digital inputs: DC or AC 12V/24V /110V /220V
- Fiber optic cable interface for data transfer
- DC Supply voltage or any other rated supply requirements
